Q. When is the office open, and where is it located?
The Association office is located at 3360 Gunston Road. It is open Monday – Friday, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. It is also open the second Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. until noon. It is only open for walk-ins; the phone is not answered during this time.
Q: When is trash picked-up and when is recycling day?
Trash Pick-up Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Trash is to be placed outside your unit door before 7:00 a.m. Do not place trash out the night before a scheduled pick up. Do not carry it to the street or other areas of Parkfairfax. NO PAPER BAGS PLEASE!
Recyclable Trash Pick-up Day: Wednesday. Please place all recyclables and newspapers outside your unit door before 7:00 a.m. All recyclables and newspapers must be in paper bags, not plastic. Anything contained in plastic bags will be considered regular trash. Recyclables include newspapers, cardboard (must be flattened), magazines, junk mail, office paper, paper bags, plastics, and aluminum cans.
THERE IS NO TRASH SERVICE ON SUNDAY: Please do not place any trash outside on this day. If you find it necessary to discard trash on Sunday, you must take it to the Maintenance Yard* and place it in the dumpsters.
Large Items Pick-Up: Capital Services will pick up large items (household stuff such as furniture, excluding appliances) on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at no charge. The items should be placed at the curb and marked for Capital Service’s pick-up.
For large item collection outside the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, arrangements can be made by calling the Association office at a cost of $70.00 per truckload. Appliances are Excluded.
Hazardous waste and paint must not be placed outside of your unit for trash pickup and should not be placed at the Maintenance Yard. IF YOU ARE FOUND PLACING YOUR HAZARDOUS WASTE OR PAINT AT ANY OF THESE LOCATIONS YOU COULD BE ASSESSED A REMOVAL FEE OF UP TO $100.00. Hazardous waste and paint must be taken to the City of Alexandria’s Household Waste Site located at 3224 Colvin Street, Alexandria, VA 22314, on Monday or Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Q: What is the parking policy for parking in Parkfairfax?
Residents are entitled to use available common element parking spaces for vehicles on a first-come first-served basis. The Bylaws permit only one vehicle per unit to park on the common element parking spaces without the prior written consent of the Board of Directors. Vehicles must have current license plates and state inspection stickers. No trailer, boat, or recreational vehicle (RV) may be parked in any common element parking area.
Q: How do I use the amenities around the community?
In order to access the pools, exercise facility and maintenance yard, residents must have an Access Card. This is a photo ID can be purchased from the office for $30. In order to access the tennis courts and basketball courts, you will need to purchase a key from the office for $10.
Q: How and where can I store my bike?
There are 25 laundry rooms throughout the community and there’s a bike rack in each laundry room. Any bike secured to a bike rack must be have a valid bike sticker. The bike registration year runs from June 1 to May 31. Bike stickers for the upcoming bike registration year are available on April 1. Any bike sticker issued prior to April 1 for the then current bike registration year must be updated during the following April or May for the succeeding bike registration year that commences on June 1st. The sticker should be affixed to the post of the bike, under the seat, so that it is clearly visible. Parkfairfax is not responsible for damage to bikes or the theft of bikes from common element storage areas.
